Gaming news round up: July 9-10

Hope the weekend was good for you guys because it's back to the grind on Monday. In the meantime, please enjoy these small bits of news from the game world.

  • Believe it or not, there is a company selling a Street Cleaning Simulator (shown above) game for the PC.
  • Ubisoft has announced Castles Empire, an upcoming web based medieval themed strategy game from Blue Byte, the developers of the Settlers series of games.
  • Timegate Studios will release the Frontier Colonies Map Pack for its recent sci-fi shooter Section 8 Vengeance on July 27 adding two new maps.
  • In related news, Timegate will release a new multiplayer Skirmish mode for Section 8: Vengeance for free later this fall.
  • A new patch for the recently released fantasy action-RPG Dungeon Siege 3 has been released via Steam.
  • Tekken Blood Vengeance 3D, a CGI feature film based on the Tekken fighting game series, will be shown in select movie theaters in the US for one night only on July 26.
  • A group of admitted multiplayer "glitchers" claim they have been invited by Infinity Ward to help test and find glitches in the upcoming first person shooter Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3.
  • The indie sandbox PC game Minecraft has now sold over 2.75 million copies as it closes in on the 3 million unit sales mark.
  • In related news the latest beta patch, 1.7.3, for the game has been released, fixing a number of issues with the game.
  • Pre-ordering the upcoming zombie action game Dead Island on Amazon.com will get you a digital art book based on the game.
