Ghost Recon Alpha live-action short released to the Internet

Earlier this month, Ghost Recon Alpha, a short live action film designed to promote Ubisoft's upcoming Ghost Recon Future Soldier game, was shown in full for the first time on the G4 cable TV network. Today, Ubisoft released the entire short film on their YouTube channel for everyone to watch.

The nearly 24 minute film features same four Ghost Recon characters that will be featured in Ghost Recon Future Soldier. The team's mission is attempt to stop the sale of several nuclear weapons to some very bad people. The location of the film will also be made into a multiplayer map in the game.

The film was directed by Hervé de Crécy and François Alaux. who won an Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 2010 for their impressive effort Logorama. In addition to serving as a prequel to the game, there's also a code seen in the film that can used to unlock contest in the game. Keep in mind that both the game and the film contains mature content.

Meanwhile, the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Ghost Recon Future Soldier will be released in the US on May 22nd. The PC version comes out on June 12th.
