Google has now removed its Pixel and Pixel XL handsets from its online store. If you want the older handsets, you can still purchase the devices through third-party retailers and Verizon Wireless in the United States.
Google originally launched the Pixel and Pixel XL in the winter of 2016. The handset made its debut with Android 7.1 Nougat and was later praised for having an amazing camera, despite its lack of optical image stabilization (OIS). With the launch of its successor, the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL, Google discounted the original Pixel handsets by $100, giving those interested an incentive to purchase the year-old devices. Despite it not having the most up to date internal specifications, the Pixel and Pixel XL are still part of an elite group of smartphones that receives priority Android and monthly security updates.
Those who already own the Pixel and Pixel XL will be happy to know that they can still purchase official accessories, like the Live Case, from the Google Store. As mentioned before, you can still buy the Pixel and Pixel XL from Verizon in the U.S., with the former having a retail price of $649 and the latter at $669.
