While most companies announce their hardware events by sending out invitations to the press and other attendees, Google seems to have gone in a different direction. It has announced that 'answers are coming' on October 4 via a website and its @madebygoogle Twitter account.
That date will be precisely one year after the firm unveiled the Pixel, Phone by Google and the Pixel XL at an event in San Francisco, so it does seem likely that we'll finally see what's in store for the Pixel 2. There have been rumors of it coming with a Snapdragon 836 processor, although Qualcomm has denied that such a chip exists, which would be a marginal improvement on the 835. The original Pixel was the first to ship with the Snapdragon 821.
In the video, we can see word forming in Google search that ask questions like:
What's wrong with my phone's battery?
Why is my phone always out of storage?
Why does my phone take so many blurry photos?
Why doesn't my phone understand me?
Why can't my phone update itself?
Why is my smartphone so slow?
Why is my smartphone so hot?
Why is my smartphone so fragile?
Why is my smartphone so annoying?
Obviously, these are some of the issues that the company aims to solve with the Pixel 2, Phone by Google.
There's no information as to when the event will be held. Of course, it's entirely possible that it will only be live-streamed.
