Google WiFi will be available for pre-order in November

Google has today announced that Google WiFi will be made available for pre-order in November and will begin shipping in December. As we reported a couple of weeks ago, Google WiFi will be extensible to allow for maximum coverage around the home. A single pack (1 router) will cost you $129 and a 3-pack will cost you $299.

Google WiFi is minimalist and will blend in well in any room. By having several of the routers around the home it’ll allow you to remain connected at all times. Your connected devices will switch between router intelligently, based on proximity, giving you the best speeds. To avoid congestion, the routers will also switch to different WiFi channels to ensure you get optimal speeds. These features are collectively called Network Assist.

For those who want more control over their network, Google has developed a mobile companion app. With the app, you’ll be able to pause network connectivity to any devices which are connected to the router. This will allow you to limit those who are using too much bandwidth or allow parents to stop their kids being online during certain hours.
