Grow Up and Kane & Lynch 2 are now free with Xbox Games with Gold

Just as we cross over to July, Microsoft has made available the first round of free games for Xbox Live Gold members. As the company announced earlier this week, Grow Up for Xbox One and Kane & Lynch 2 for Xbox 360 are now available for the low, low price of free. The latter is also accessible on Xbox One consoles through Backward Compatibility.

The new free games' store links and descriptions are as follows:

Grow Up (Xbox One, July 1 - 31)

Living the life of a B.U.D. (Botanical Utility Droid) can be tough. Especially when your spaceship breaks into pieces and scatters across a planet filled with amazing plants and wondrous structures! As B.U.D., along with your friend P.O.D., you’ll traverse this open world and recover parts of your ship. Fly, climb, bounce, roll and complete challenges along the way in this wibbly wobbly fun adventure.

Kane & Lynch 2 (Xbox 360, July 1 - 15)

Play as two violent and disturbing criminals in the action shooter Kane & Lynch 2. Lynch, the psychopath, has his sanity on the edge at all times and Kane, the ex-mercenary, is disillusioned and desperate. Play as both in an epic single-player story driven campaign, or team up with a friend over Xbox Live.

Also, for those who missed it, Watch_Dogs from June's Games with Gold promotion is still available to claim until July 15 for Xbox One owners. Keep in mind that only claimed Xbox 360 games will remain playable if the Gold subscription is discontinued, unlike claimed Xbox One games, which are only accessible with an active subscription.

Microsoft is currently hosting the Xbox Ultimate Game Sale with hundreds of games being discounted. The sale is set to run until July 10. The company is also adding seven new games to its Xbox Game Pass subscription on July 1, which joins the large roster of games already available on the service for $9.99 a month.
