Here are all the Motorola phones that will be getting Android 7.0 Nougat

Yesterday, Google unveiled the latest version of its operating system, Android 7.1, which will ship first on its own Pixel devices. But the new OS will take a long time before it reaches the rest of us mortals, many of whom are still waiting for the new-ish Android 7.0 Nougat update. Luckily for Motorola users, they’re a step closer to receiving Android 7.0, and the company has now posted the full list of supported devices.

Android 7.0 Nougat began rolling out publicly a little over a month ago, and at the time Motorola mentioned that its Z and G4 family would be receiving the update this year. But now the company has published a full list of supported devices, though it’s bound to make a few users angry.

According to the company these are the phones that will see Android 7.0 Nougat:

  • Moto G (4th Gen)
  • Moto G Plus (4th Gen)
  • Moto G Play (4th Gen)
  • Moto X Pure Edition (3rd Gen)
  • Moto X Style
  • Moto X Play
  • Moto X Force
  • Droid Turbo 2
  • Droid Maxx 2
  • Moto Z
  • Moto Z Droid
  • Moto Z Force Droid
  • Moto Z Play
  • Moto Z Play Droid
  • Nexus 6

Barring the Nexus 6 device, which finally got its Nougat update yesterday, you might notice that many of the low or mid-range devices in Moto’s lineup are being skipped over. Speculation points towards unsupported chipsets as the primary reason for this.

As the company originally promised, the Android 7.0 Nougat update will start rolling out to the Moto Z and moto G4 family in Q4 of this year. More precise dates depend on carriers, user location and specific phone model.
