Here are the games shown off during today's Stadia Connect

Right before the start of gamescom 2019, and like other companies, Google today had its own video presentation where it showed off a handful of games coming to its platform. The vast majority of titles showcased during the event were already known of, but the company did get one all-new, exclusive announcement in the form of Orcs Must Die! 3.

If you're unfamiliar with it, Orcs Must Die! is a franchise of tower defense games, in which players need to defend their base from hordes of oncoming orcs. In the third numbered entry in the franchise, thanks to the power of Google's datacenters, players can expect to face off against waves consisting of hundreds of orcs at the same time. Here's the reveal trailer for the game:

In addition to the new reveal, Google announced a variety of titles coming to its platform, from major publishers and indie developers alike. These include Cyberpunk 2077, which is slated to arrive on other platforms in April of next year, Mortal Kombat 11, Destiny 2's Shadowkeep expansion, Doom: Eternal, and Borderlands 3. Most of the games were announced without much in the way of a release date, though Mortal Kombat 11 is set to arrive in November, which means it'll be available on or close to the launch of Stadia itself.

For the most part, Google didn't add any new information for games that were previously announced, so here's a rundown of the title shown off during the presentation:

While most of the games shown off today aren't really new, the announcements do show that Google is trying to build up a decent catalog of games for its cloud gaming service, with some exclusives in the works as well. With details such as game prices still a mystery, and many doubts still up in the air about the services reliability, it remains to be seen if Stadia can be successful enough for Google to keep pouring its efforts into it in the future.
