Just about everyone uses their smartphone while in the bathroom, but occasionally, some people drop their phone in the bowl, causing immeasurable trauma. This usually leads to the user trying to figure out how to save their device, before inevitably going out and buying something new.
That's why Huawei is introducing Smartphone Toilet Insurance for phones under its Honor brand. If you purchase an Honor 7X or Honor View10 between April 1 and May 31, you'll be covered for water damage throughout 2018, and it's free.
"Water damage is one of the most common reasons phones stop working completely," said Zack Zhang, vice president of Honor USA. "The Smartphone Toilet Insurance Plan is a totally new approach to keeping our customers protected no matter where they are taking care of business."
The company didn't provide any additional details for Smartphone Toilet Insurance, such as how much the plan will cost if you purchase one of the devices outside of the above timeframe, or if it will be available for other Honor and Huawei devices.
