HP has announced the newest member of its Chromebook lineup, the Chromebook 11 G5, an entry-level Chrome OS laptop powered by the Intel Celeron N3060 processor, with a good battery life and priced at $189.
It seems that the company will be offering many variants of the device and one of them is revealed to feature a Gorilla Glass-protected touchscreen. HP believes that the touchscreen would prove beneficial once Android apps become available for the Chrome OS in the near future. It should be noted that the premium Chromebook 13 laptop from the company does not have a touchscreen option, and the G5 is the first of its kind from the firm.
According to the manufacturer, the touchscreen variant can last up to 11 hours, while the standard one can be used for up to 12.5 hours. Currently, not much is known about the hardware specifications of the 11.6-inch device, and the only other information revealed by the company is that it weighs 2.51 lbs.
The Chromebook 11 G5 will be sold through channel partners starting in July, while retail sales will commence in October.
