Infinity Blade II free update coming May 24th

Developers Epic Games and Chair Entertainment will be offering owners of the iOS-based fantasy action game Infinity Blade II a nice, and free, content update on Thursday, May 24th. The update, titled Vault of Tears, will include new areas to explore along with a number of new monsters to fight, including the Moss Golem, Dark Fiend, Bog Giant, and the Acolyte.

Look for new items to collect when the update goes live, including magic rings, weapons, shields, helmets, and armor. You will also find some new achievements to, well, achieve, along with new gems to forge and more.

Perhaps the most interesting part of the new update involves the game's link to Facebook and Twitter accounts. The press release states:

Building upon the cooperative ClashMob challenges, players can now earn extra turns and invite their friends, family and other non-Infinity Blade players to do in-game damage with the power of liking and re-tweeting battle calls on Facebook and Twitter!

Epic Games is already working on the next game in the Infinity Blade series, called Infinity Blade: Dungeons, that was first announced several months ago. Developed completely by Epic, it is an action-RPG game rather than a brawler title and is due to be released later in 2012.
