Intel has, once again, released a new update for its DCH graphics driver, bringing it to version 26.20.100.6912. DCH drivers, which Intel debuted late last year, are designed for modern versions of Windows 10, and won't work on versions of Windows prior to Windows 10 version 1709, also known as the Fall Creators Update.
The latest version of the driver includes initial support for a few games. Steel Division 2 and The Sinking City are both now playable with Intel UHD Graphics 620 or higher, and F1 2019 can be played if you have an Intel Iris Pro GPU. As for other big changes, Intel has improved overall performance for Unreal Engine 4, which should benefit a few games.
As usual, the latest release includes a number of bug fixes, including one for an issue that might have caused graphics anomalies in Devil May Cry 5, which was mentioned in the known issues for the previous version of the driver. It also improves support for UWP media apps. Here are all the improvements and fixes:
- Minor graphical anomalies may be observed in Devil May Cry 5* (DX12).
- Fixed visual artifacts in Microsoft Edge browser when Conservative Morphological Anti-Aliasing (CMAA) is enabled.
- Improved support for Universal Windows Platform media apps.
- Improved HDR support.
- Miracast is unable to connect successfully after graphics driver is uninstalled and reinstalled on 8th Generation Intel® Core™ processor family.
Of course, even with those fixes, there are bugs left to be squashed. These include crashes or hangs in some games, which were also mentioned in the previous driver release:
- Intermittent crashes or hangs may be observed in Sniper Elite V2 Remastered*, Rage 2* (Vulkan), World War Z* (Vulkan) (1080p Medium and High settings), Madden NFL19*, Stormworks: Build and Rescue*.
- SPECviewperf 13 crashes when running creo-02 workload on 8 th and 9 th Generation Intel Core processors.
The hardware requirements for the latest driver remain unchanged from the previous versions. Sixth-generation Intel Core processors and higher are supported, in addition to related Xeon and Pentium processors with the same GPU. The Intel Xeon E3-1500M v5 family with Intel HD Graphics P530 is also supported, as are Pentium processors with Intel HD Graphics 500 and 505, and UHD Graphics 600 and 605.
