iPhone 4S owners complaining about earpiece audio issues

The iPhone 4S has been the subject of annoying bugs since its launch a few weeks ago. Now yet another one has apparently risen to the surface. Gizmodo reports that a massive message board thread on Apple's forums has a number of iPhone 4S owners complaining that the device's earpiece is not offering any audio for outbound calls.

This bug doesn't seem to be limited to one wireless carrier. iPhone 4S owners from all three current wireless providers in the US (Sprint, Verizon and AT&T) are reporting the same issue. It's more than possible that this new bug is a driver issue with the iOS 5 operating system which means that we may have to wait until Apple offers a software update to fix the problem.

In the meantime, there are some workarounds discovered by other owners that seem to fix the issue. That includes activating the Siri voice recognition software, turning the speakerphone on and off, or taking out and then putting back in headphones in the iPhone 4S's headphone port.

With the confirmed battery drain issue and also the newly discovered Daylight Savings Times switchover problems, it seems like Apple might have shipped out the iPhone 4S a tad too early for some owners.
