Apple has just earlier released version 9.0.1 of its media software, iTunes, bringing a number of bug fixes to the release which was made available during its iPod event not long ago. Macworld has detailed all of the changes, explaining some things a bit better than Apple's official release notes.
When you update, you'll get the following set of notes, straight from Apple:
· Resolves issues browsing the iTunes Store.
· Addresses a performance issue where iTunes may become unresponsive.
· Fixes a problem where iTunes may unexpectedly quit.
· Fixes a problem syncing Podcasts in playlists to iPod or iPhone.
· Fixes a problem sorting albums with multiple discs.
· Addresses an issue with the Zoom button not switching to Mini Player.
· Improves application syncing for iPod touch and iPhone.
· Genius is now automatically updated to show Genius Mixes.
What's interesting is that the issue with the maximize button on iTunes versions 8 and older has returned (well, an issue for some, yet a good thing for others). That is, on Mac OS X, clicking the maximize button would shrink the player into its mini format, whereas in iTunes 9 you could do that by holding Option, then clicking maximize. Many found this an improvement as the mini player isn't used often, but the old style has returned, regardless of user preference.
To update, use the 'Check for Updates' option as usual, or you can find it on Apple's download page.
