Japanese video game maker Square Enix has announced a new game set in the Kingdom Hearts universe. It is titled Kingdom Hearts: Memory of Melody and is a rhythm action game - the first of its kind in the series. While the initial announcement is in Japanese, the announcing trailer as well as the game's official website both promise a worldwide release.
The short announcement trailer revealed by the company is about two minutes long. It offers a look at the gameplay and storyline of the upcoming title, as seen below.
According to the details given in the announcing post (translated from Japanese), Kingdom Hearts: Memory of Melody will feature many playable characters from the Kingdom Hearts universe. The game will also have over 140 songs including - but not limited to - music from the video game series and Disney.
The latest entrant to the critically acclaimed Kingdom Hearts series is due out sometime this year and is set to see a global release. Square Enix also confirmed that the title will be available on multiple platforms including the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
