The shut down of Australian-based developer Team Bondi was made official earlier this week but some of the team that helped to make the acclaimed action-adventure game LA Noire are still owed a considerable amount of money. The Edge web site reports that according to a filing with the Australian Securities And Investments Commission this week, 33 members of the team are owed a combined total of $1,074,283.28 Australian dollars. In addition, creditors for Team Bondi are owed even more money, $1,425,156.78 Australian dollars.
Team Bondi's founder Brendan McNamara, who has taken most of the blame in the media for the failure of the developer, is listed as one of the team's creditors. According to the documents he is owed $102,495.16, which is the most for a single person. In addition, Depth Analysis, the company that created the MotionScan facial technology that was one of the most talked about aspects of LA Noire, is also owed $145,795.83. Team Bondi's general manager Vicky Lord is listed as being owed $99,155.21 in the official documents. LA Noire gameplay lead David Heironymus is also listed as being owed $43,652 by the developer.
On October 5 Team Bondi filed a "Special Resolution to Wind Up Company" document with the Australian regulators. A liquidator has been appointed to sell off the remaining assets of the developer to help complete its shut down. However it seems unlikely that the people and organizations that are owed money from the company will be paid back in full anytime soon.
