Leak suggests Google Pixel 5 could be priced at $699

The Google Pixel 4a 5G and the Pixel 5 have leaked a number of times in the last couple of weeks. The European pricing of the Pixel 5 had leaked, though its U.S. price was not yet known. Ruining whatever little surprise Google had in store for its event on September 30th, leaker Jon Prosser has revealed the U.S. price of the Pixel 5 on Twitter.

The leaker claims that the Pixel 5 5G 128GB will be priced at $699. If leaks are anything to go by, Google plans to offer the Pixel 5 in only one variant with 128GB of storage so don't expect another model with 64GB storage at a lower price. Google has already confirmed that the Pixel 4a 5G will be priced at $499. This makes the top of the line Pixel 5 a couple of hundred dollars more expensive than the Pixel 4a 5G but still notably cheaper than other $1,000+ flagships on the market right now including the Galaxy S20 Ultra, Note 20 Ultra, and more. The pricing is also more reasonable than the Pixel 4 lineup from last year.

Leaks point to the Pixel 5 featuring a Snapdragon 765G chipset, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage, 8GB RAM, 6-inch FHD+ OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, IP68 certification, a dual-camera setup comprising of a 12.2MP optically-stabilized Sony sensor with f/1.7 aperture and a 16MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 4,000mAh battery with 18W fast charge support.

Apart from new Pixel smartphones, Google is also expected to announce its new Nest Audio speaker, Chromecast with Google TV, and more at its event next week.
