Leaked video shows off a hidden 'People Sense' app for Windows Phone

Not too long ago, Microsoft revealed its plans to kill Rooms for Windows Phone saying that the company would be focusing on “new features in Windows 10 that will help you stay in touch with the people that matter most.” Today, a leaked video from Spanish website, Microsoft Place, shows off this new hidden feature - an app named 'People Sense', which will apparently replace 'Rooms' in Windows 10 for Phones.

People Sense will allow users to do a number of things including:

  • Share your location in real time with your contacts.
  • Integrated messaging and calling application.
  • Integration with navigation applications for step by step directions to your contacts.
  • Integration with your favorite places to show like “home” or “work”

The app is codenamed Buddy Aware and the leaked video shows a build from February 17 indicating that the app is in active development. More features will supposedly be added in future updates as this is likely an earlier build.

While the app does not have the full functionalities of its predecessor for example shared calendars and lists, however, we can certainly hope that these features will be added when the application is released publicly. Nevertheless, it's good to see that Microsoft is focusing more on the social aspects of Windows Phone.
