While Lenovo refreshed its ThinkPad X1 business PCs yesterday, today it's time for new ThinkBooks. If you're unfamiliar with ThinkBook, it's a newer, more experimental brand from Lenovo that let's it try more things on business PCs, whereas ThinkPads tend to be more traditional. In other words, you won't find a TrackPoint here.
First up is the ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 i. Indeed, the dual-screen convertible with an E Ink display on the outside is back, and that E Ink display is larger. The screen-to-body ratio is now 68% instead of 48% with a 12-inch size, and the resolution is now 2560x1600, the same as the main display. Lenovo also increased the refresh rate to improve responsiveness in the E Ink display.
It's also thinner and lighter at 13.9mm and 1.3kg, and the 13.3-inch internal display is now 16:10, a trend across Lenovo's lineup. There's also a pen garage now too, so it's always with you. And as you'd expect, it comes with Intel's Tiger Lake processors, Thunderbolt 4, Wi-Fi 6, and Iris Xe graphics.
The ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 i is coming in Q1, starting at $1,549.
Lenovo says the the ThinkBook 13x i is one of the thinnest 13-inch business laptops out there at 12.9mm, and it weighs less than 1.2kg. Coming in Storm Gray or Cloud Gray, the ThinkBook 13x i is pretty much the ThinkBook Plus Gen 2 i, but without the secondary E Ink display.
The ThinkBook 13x i is coming in Q1, starting at $1,199.
And then there are the ThinkBook 14p and ThinkBook 16p, both of which come with AMD Ryzen 5000 processors. The 14p can come with up to a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display, and the ThinkBook 16p is the powerhouse. Not only does it come with the next-gen AMD Ryzen processors, but it comes with Nvidia's GeForce RTX 30 series graphics, which power a 16-inch 2560x1600 display.
Both are coming in the first quarter of this year. The ThinkBook 14p starts at $849 while the ThinkBook 16p starts at $1,299.
