Lenovo's Alexa Moto Mod is available for pre-order tomorrow

Last month, Lenovo announced a new Moto Mod that brings Amazon Alexa functionality to the Moto Z and Z2 Force. Called the Moto Smart Speaker with Amazon Alexa, it attaches to the back of the device, just like all Mods do.

Today, the company announced that the Mod will be available for pre-order tomorrow for the price of $149.99 at Amazon, Bestbuy.com, and Motorola.com. It will be available beginning on November 13, although you won't be able to find it in Verizon stores until the 16th.

With Alexa, you should be able to do everything that you can do with Amazon's Echo devices, which is anything from asking about the weather, to controlling your Fire TV, to using any of thousands of third-party Skills like playing Jeopardy. Motorola is also promising solid audio quality with the new Mod, saying that you can "turn the volume way up."

While the Moto Z series of handsets has a modular design allowing users to snap on various Mods, other Motorola phones do not; however, that doesn't make Alexa exclusive to the Z. The new Moto X4 has Alexa functionality built into the device.
