Lenovo's IdeaPad 5 Pro comes in 14- and 16-inch sizes with 16:10 screens

Today, Lenovo is introducing the IdeaPad 5 Pro and the IdeaPad 5i Pro, two identical PCs that are branded based on whether they have AMD or Intel processors. The standard model comes with AMD's next-generation Ryzen processors, while the 'i' variant comes with Intel's 11th-generation CPUs. Either of them also come with up to an Nvidia GeForce MX450 GPU, although the 16-inch is going to get GeForce RTX options at some point.

Both of them (we'll just call them the IdeaPad 5 Pro, since the only real difference is the processor) come in 14- and 16-inch sizes, and they have 16:10 displays. On the 14-inch one, it has a 2.8k resolution with a 90Hz refresh rate and 400-nit brightness. For the larger model, it's a 2.5k display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 350-nit brightness. With narrow bezels, those screens have a 90% screen-to-body ratio.

Another new feature that's coming, although not exclusive to the IdeaPad 5 Pro, is Show Mode for PC. Lenovo has been shipping Alexa on PCs for years now, and while it's always done the voice thing, now it's going to take a more visual path like we've seen from Amazon's own Echo Show and Lenovo's Alexa-powered Android tablets.

Other specs for the new clamshell laptops include 56.5WHr and 75WHr batteries on the 14- and 16-inch models, respectively, and they both support Rapid Charge Express. They come with up to 16GB DDR4 memory and 1TB SSD. Note that while the processors are different, one other thing that you'll find exclusive to the Intel model is Thunderbolt 4.

As for colors, you get your options of Cloud Grey and Storm Grey. The 16-inch IdeaPad 5 Pro with AMD Ryzen H-series chips is the only one coming to North America, and it will arrive in May starting at $1,149.99. The 14-inch variant is coming to EMEA regions in March, starting at €799. The IdeaPad 5i Pro is also coming to EMEA regions in March, starting at €899 for the 16-inch model and €699 for the 14-inch model.
