LG details Velvet phone specs: 6.8-inch display, 48MP triple-camera setup, more

LG is all set to announce the Velvet on May 7. However, the company is not waiting until then to provide more details about its upcoming smartphone. Firstly, LG has confirmed that the Velvet will go on sale across three of the major mobile carriers in South Korea on May 15th, just a week after its official announcement.

The LG Velvet will feature a 6.8-inch 20.5:9 FullVision waterfall display. It will also feature stereo speakers that will be powered by AI Sound. As for the dimensions, it will be 6.8mm thick and 74.1mm wide. LG says the Velvet has an oval 3D arc shape at the front and rear glass are curved at the edges and they blend together at the curves into one.

For the cameras, the Velvet will include a 48MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5MP depth sensor. The company had previously highlighted the 'Raindrop' camera design of the device. LG also detailed the new 'Voice Out Focus' feature on the Velvet that will automatically cut down on background noise to record voices more clearly while shooting a video. Users will also have the option to adjust the level of noise reduction as per their liking. There's also an ASMR recording function in which the sensitivity of the two microphones on the device is maximized.

Other specs of the LG Velvet include a Snapdragon 765 chipset, 5G connectivity, and a 4,300mAh battery. The device will also be compatible with LG's existing Dual Screen and Stylus Pen accessories. It will be available in four colors: Aurora White, Aurora Gray, Aurora Green, and Illusion Sunset.
