Life is Strange prequel officially confirmed, due in August

A few days ago, it was revealed that a prequel to 2015's hit title Life is Strange is possibly in development. At its E3 press briefing today, Microsoft has officially confirmed this piece of news, stating that a three-episode prequel to the original Life is Strange - dubbed Life is Strange: Before the Storm - is being developed, with the first episode due towards the end of August.

You can check out the trailer for the upcoming game below:

The trailer shows off Life is Strange's signature scenic imagery, however, it doesn't give away anything in terms of the storyline - which is probably a good thing.

The original Life is Strange was a graphic episodic adventure game developed by Square Enix, and was critically acclaimed. It allowed players to take control of a teenager named Max Caulfield an prevent an upcoming storm - which will destroy her town - using her ability to manipulate time itself. The title currently boasts a 10/10 rating on Steam.

It is important to note that Life is Strange: Before the Storm is an Xbox One X enhanced title, which means that it will be able to take full advantage of Microsoft's latest console's capabilities. The first episode of the game is slated for a release on August 31, 2017.
