LIFX debuts new stylish lighting option with $249 Tile

LIFX has been around for quite some time, offering connected lighting solutions that are self-contained and don't require an external hub for connectivity. While the array of bulb options has grown, the firm is now releasing something that is more focused towards creating an atmosphere.

The LIFX Tile is a system that comes in a pack of five and offers 2100 lumens of illumination when combined. Like its other lighting solutions, the Tile does not require a separate hub and only has a single power cable that attaches to one of the pieces. The new option will be compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit.

The lighting and color customizations are set through the app which can be downloaded on iOS, Android, and Windows (not a typo). While the visual above may look pretty slick, the cost might leave many to pull back their wallets. The kit includes five tiles and also a power pack and retails for $249.99. It is currently available for pre-order and will begin shipping in November.
