Mac – Rumor Control

With WWDC 2004 only three days away, speculation is rife as to what will be announced by Apple. This speculation is fuelled by the fact that Apple is known for being tight lipped on its upcoming products. It isn't uncommon for someone to leak something. Around this time last year Apples web developer accidentally unleashed the Power Mac G5 specifications. It was quickly taken down, but not before someone took a screenshot of it. Before any event comes the rumors of what Apple might showcase. We've got a round up of the more popular rumors before WWDC 2004 kicks off.

The first rumor is regarding the possibility of a new iMac. AppleInsider is reporting that "Resellers were told this week to expect the discontinuation of the 15-inch iMac G4 in the immediate future." Earlier this month AppleInsider reported on how Apple initiated an inventory flush of the iMac. The rumored iMac is expected to have a single Power PC G5 processor (under 2 GHz) along with a new casing "pizza box". However, Think Secret is reporting that Apple has no plans to announce such a product next week. On Monday we'll find out for sure.
