Mass Effect 3's free 'Earth' DLC coming July 17

BioWare today has detailed a new downloadable content pack for Mass Effect 3; it's called Earth, it's completely free to download, and it'll be hitting the PC on July 17 worldwide. The expansion is multi-player related and features three new maps: Rio, Vancouver, and London.

Also coming in the expansion are three new weapons to use: the Piranha assault shotgun, Acolyte pistol, and Typhoon assault rifle; plus six new human N7 classes: Destroyer Soldier, Paladin Sentinel, Demolisher Engineer, Slayer Vanguard, Shadow Infiltrator, and Fury Adept. Finally, the Earth DLC pack also includes a new Platinum difficulty.

It's great to see that BioWare continues to release free expansions to Mass Effect 3, the first of which being the Extended Cut DLC. We do have to wonder how long this will continue for, but nevertheless you can pick up the DLC for free on July 17.
