Meta introduces new fundraising resources to celebrate GivingTuesday

In preparation for the GivingTuesday on the 30th of November, Meta has announced that it is launching additional resources and fundraising tools across its apps for people to give back to their communities.

It has also said that it will expand "the set of nonprofits that people can fundraise for on Instagram", which will enable users to raise donations for over 1.5 million organizations through the Donations Sticker in Stories and by adding a fundraiser to a post. These resources will be available in countries that support non-profit fundraisers.

Meta is also expanding tests of Facebook Neighborhoods, a space within the Facebook app built to aid users in discovering new places, participating in their communities, and connecting with neighbors, to further 132 cities in the US. Furthermore, it is also testing its latest Giving Exchange feature that will allow people to give their items, that they do not need anymore, to other people.

The announcement from the company also mentioned that:

As always, 100% of donations raised for nonprofits through fundraisers created on Facebook and Instagram go directly to the organization picked by the donor. All donations are processed securely by Facebook Pay, making it easy to donate in just a few taps.

As part of a tournament, Meta will also allow teams of gaming creators to go live on Warzone on Facebook Gaming to raise funds for their chosen non-profit organizations. The gaming creators will utilize its charity live streaming tools, choose a non-profit organization, and raise donations during the broadcast.

To watch the broadcast and participate in the fundraising between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. (PT) on the 30th of November, you can check out the link here.
