Microsoft announces what's new for OneNote this month

Today, Microsoft announced the features that are coming to OneNote this month, including for Windows 10, macOS, and the web. The new features will be rolling out in the coming weeks, although some of them may already be available to Insiders.

One thing that's new is cloud file attachments, which will allow you to make sure you're always looking at the current version of a file. It's pretty simple. If you attach a file that's stored in OneDrive to a note, it will always be up to date. You'll just have to turn on the feature via Settings.

You'll also be able to search for tags. For some reason, tags existed, but you couldn't search them, and that's changing. All you have to do is click the magnifying glass next to a notebook name.

Both of the above features are for Windows 10 and macOS, but OneNote Online is getting some significant improvements as well. You'll soon be able to insert images directly from your device's camera, and there's a new emoji keyboard option that will show up in the ribbon. You can more easily share a link to a section by right-clicking the section name and clicking "Copy Link to Section" as well.

One more thing that you'll be able to do on OneNote Online is change the AutoCorrect options. For example, you can turn off the features that replace hyphens with a dash, and you can even adjust what things are replaced with.

All of the new features will be rolling out in the coming weeks.
