Microsoft cuts $150 off entry-level Surface Book; now available for $1,349

Microsoft is currently offering a free $150 gift card to spend in its stores to those who purchase specific models of its Surface Book and Surface Pro 4. However, the only Surface Book to qualify for that offer costs $1,899 - but if your budget doesn't stretch quite that far, there is another deal available.

The company has slashed $150 (10%) off its entry-level Surface Book, with an Intel Core i5 (Skylake) processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Usually priced at $1,499, the discount reduces its price to $1,349 until October 1.

There is another deal available for those keen to buy a Surface device on a more modest budget. Until September 24, the Microsoft Store is offering $150 off the Surface Pro 4 tablet with Intel Core i5, 4GB of RAM and 128GB storage. That brings its price down from $999 to $849, undercutting the entry-level Pro 4 by $50.

But you might want to hold off on making a purchase for a bit longer. Microsoft is rumored to be planning an event next month at which it's expected to announce 'refreshed' versions of the Surface Book and Pro 4 with the latest 7th-generation ('Kaby Lake') Intel Core processors. It's also believed that the company will reveal its new Surface all-in-one desktop PC at the same time.
