Just like that, another month has gone by, and Microsoft is once again highlighting the updates it's made to the Microsoft 365 suite of products in September. This is in addition to another post highlighting other recent updates in Microsoft 365 just last week.
There's quite a few things that are new this month, starting with an improved conversation UI for Yammer on mobile devices. Different conversations will now be presented in cards, with each reply to the initial message being shown in a bubble to make them more visible. Microsoft To Do also got a design refresh this month, with new customization options for the app across platforms. Headers have been reduced, you can choose background color or image for your tasks lists, and the app has even seen a slight name change, dropping the hyphen.
As mentioned last week, PowerPoint on the web has received a new Presenter Coach feature, which helps users deliver presentations more efficiently and with fewer filler words. It also now lets users share a link to a specific slide in a presentation, a feature exclusive to the web version of PowerPoint, at least for now.
OneNote has received a few updates, specifically on Apple platforms. On Mac, the app now features integration with Microsoft's Sticky Notes, and support for the Recent Notes tab, so you can quickly access the things you've worked on most recently. On the iPad, there's a new dark theme which should match nicely with the new system-wide setting in iOS 13.
Microsoft Forms Pro now lets users create multilingual surveys more easily with a new option in the drop-down menu. Users can add a new language and translate the survey without having to create a separate document. Meanwhile, you can now create automatic workflows as diagrams in Visio and export them to Microsoft Flow with a single click. The feature is available to Visio Plan 2 users on the desktop.
There are also a few new features for IT management, starting with support for fully managed Android Enterprise devices in Microsoft Intune. This gives organizations more tools to deploy and customize Android devices for their employees. It's also easier to add new employees and workers in Microsoft 365 thanks to a new ability to create templates for new workers. This lets users standardize certain settings for adding new people to make the process faster.
There's also a new Automated Incident Response response in Office 365 ATP, which should make it easier to respond to security incidents thanks to new automation workflows. The feature is available for businesses with Office 365 ATP Plan 2, Office 365 E5, and Microsoft 365 E5 Security SKUs. Fineally, there's a new evaluation lab in Microsoft Defender ATP to help make it easier to configure and install new machines.
Other news this month include the general availability of the new Outlook experience on the web, Security Policy Advisor, and Windows Virtual Desktop.
