Microsoft is adding two more Microsoft 365 SKUs for security and compliance

Today, Microsoft announced two new SKUs of its Microsoft 365 offering, which combines Windows 10, Office 365, and Enterprise Mobility + Security (EMS). The new offerings are called Identity & Threat Protection, and Information Protection & Compliance.

Microsoft 365 Identity & Threat Protection is all about, you guessed it, security. It adds Microsoft Threat Protection to the three products offered. That includes Azure Advanced Threat Protection, Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection, and Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection including Threat Intelligence.

Microsoft 365 Information Protection & Compliance adds Office 365 Advance Compliance and Azure Information Protection. It provides a compliance score across all Microsoft services, for things like the European Union's GDPR.

The two new offerings will be available for purchase on February 1. Microsoft 365 Identity and Threat Protection will be $12 per user per month, and Information Protection & Compliance will be $10 per user per month. Microsoft also noted that all of the features in these two bundles are already included in its Microsoft 365 E5 SKU, so these new offerings are really for customers that aren't willing to shell out for the top-end product, but still want some of the security and compliance features.
