Today at its Build 2019 developer conference, Microsoft announced Ideas for Word and Word Online. The feature is meant to be a sort of artificial intelligence editor for your documents, helping you to write better stories and produce a more polished document.
The idea (pun intended) is to give you intelligent suggestions while you're writing. If you're struggling with a tricky phrase, Ideas will attempt to get you where you're trying to go, or it can suggest a rewrite based on machine learning.
When reading, the feature will provide things like estimated reading times, key points, and it can extract acronyms, all while using the Microsoft Graph. The features that Ideas will include are Word Designer, Time-to-Read, Highlight Extraction, and more.
Microsoft promises that Ideas will be your AI-powered editor in the cloud, powered by the Microsoft Graph combined with machine learning. The feature will begin rolling out to Insiders next month, with general availability planned for this fall.
