Microsoft opens registrations for its SharePoint Virtual Summit

Microsoft announced today the SharePoint Virtual Summit, to be held online on May 16, 2017. The event is free and will focus on "how to create a connected workplace in Office 365 with OneDrive and SharePoint and integrated with Yammer, Microsoft Teams, Windows, PowerApps and Microsoft Flow".

The company has released the following schedule for the event, which will feature Microsoft Corporate Vice Presidents Jeff Teper, James Phillips, and Chuck Friedman. Mr. Teper will first unveil the latest product innovations and roadmap in the Summit keynote, while Mr. Phillips and Mr. Friedman will join him later to discuss the interplay between Office 365, Windows, and Azure.

Agenda - times are Pacific Daylight Time (PDT, UTC -7:00):

  • 10:00am - Doors open
  • 10:15am - Summit keynote
  • 11:00am - Customer showcase and technical breakout sessions
  • 12:00pm - Q&A with Microsoft executives

Last year, Microsoft shared its strategic roadmap for SharePoint at the Future of SharePoint virtual event, which was viewed by over 50,000 people. Back then, the company announced plans for "simple and powerful file sharing on any device". One month later, the company announced the launch of SharePoint mobile apps for iOS, Android, and Windows 10.
