Thanks Beatles.. This download provides the end-user Redistributable that developers may include with their product. The redistributable license agreement covers the terms under which developers may use the Redistributable. If you choose to distribute the Redistributable Code, you must include the files as specified listed in the Redist Directory Read Me file.

The DirectX 8.1b Redist download supports Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

Note: This is not a newer DirectX than 8.1a (Home user) It's simply an updates redist file for developers to include with programs that require DirectX. Since its across all Os'es it doesnt hurt to have it backed up tho..
