Microsoft releases new Office Insider preview build for Android

Last November, Microsoft launched the Office Insider Program, including support for Android devices. It released a preview for those devices earlier this year, and today, it's rolling out a new version for Insiders.

Office Insider preview build 16.0.6729.1006 is now available to install, and brings a range of small but welcome additions to the company's Office apps on Android:

  • Send any Word, Excel or PowerPoint document as PDF
  • Open a RTF document in the Word App
  • Insert a picture from camera on the Word & Excel App
  • Convert a table to a range on Excel App
  • You can apply Morph transitions to your slides to move several objects at once.

To be able to run Office Insider builds, Microsoft recommends a device running Android 4.4 KitKat or newer, with at least 1GB of RAM. You can find out more about joining the Office Insider Program via Microsoft's official Google+ community page.
