Microsoft releases Windows 10 build 17733 with finalized dark mode File Explorer

It's a new week, and that means that it's time for a new Windows 10 Insider Preview. This week's build is number 17733, and it doesn't contain much in the way of new features. In fact, it's just a finalized version of the File Explorer dark mode that was announced back in May.

Here's the actual changelog for build 17733:

Dark Theme in File Explorer

With Build 17666 we started our journey bringing dark theme to File Explorer. Today’s build marks the turning point where we’ve finished what we set out to do for this release. Thank you to all Insiders that have shared feedback during this time!

The lack of new features is not surprising, as we're now getting close to an RTM. Redstone 5 has been moved from the RS_PRERELEASE branch to RS5_RELEASE, meaning that active development is now on the next version of Windows 10, codenamed 19H1.

In the meantime, Microsoft is going to continue to focus on fixes for Redstone 5 and refinements, such as the finalized File Explorer dark mode. If you're looking to get the cool new features right now, you should probably be on the Skip Ahead ring, which is already receiving new 19H1 builds.
