Microsoft shows off new Shadow of War gameplay - and the power of mind control - at E3

Alongside the previous story, open world and combat trailers we've already seen for Monolith Games' second stroll through the Orc-stricken lands of Mordor, Microsoft today gave us another in-depth look at the game at their Xbox E3 2017 conference today.

The interesting combat was definitely a plus but I think the true highlight of the trailer was Bruz the Chopper, who's already become my favourite character in the game. Initially starting off as a sworn enemy of our ranger and the ghostly Celebrimbor, Bruz suddenly becomes an ally of our unlikely duo thanks to Celebrimbor's spectral powers of persuasion. The personality change is not only interesting but also turns Bruz into one of the most hilarious characters we've seen so far, lending the otherwise serious game a sliver of much-needed humor.

The game will be available later this year on October 10.
