Microsoft Launcher isn't the company's only app to get an update today, and the To-Do team has also pushed out a set of improvements to those enrolled in the beta. Version 1.49.7632 introduces the ability to attach files to specific tasks, a feature which is also available for Insiders using the Windows 10 app starting with version 1.49.1901.21002, which was released today.
File attachments are synced across devices, as you'd expect, they can be helpful to add context to each task, and you can add more than one file to each task. It's not possible, however, to attach files to tasks in shared lists, and the feature also doesn't seem to be available on the web version of To-Do as of yet.
The Android app has a handful of other improvements, too, including a new shortcut to create a new task from the notification tray, and the ability to set reminders or set the recurrence of a task from the entry bar. Here's the full changelog:
- Introducing file attachments! Now you can attach any photo straight from your phone to a task on a personal list.
- Add a task easily with our new To-Do tile (Android 8.0+) in the notification bar.
- Add due dates, reminder & recurrence when you create your task with our rich entry bar.
- If you have a small screen & big device font size, then we will no longer cut off list names.
- We now hide the keyboard on the sign-in screen if you move the app to the background.
- A number of accessibility fixes.
File attachments are likely to make their way to Microsoft To-Do on other platforms sometime soon, but if you'd like to get them now, you can get the app from the Play Store here, though you'll need to sign up for the beta to get the feature. You can also download it for Windows 10 here, or for iOS from the App Store.
If you don't need all the power of To-Do on your phone, but still want to access your tasks, Microsoft Launcher added support for the service late last year alongside a few others.
