Microsoft To-Do beta for Android now supports file attachments in shared lists

Earlier this year, Microsoft introduced support for file attachments in Microsoft To-Do, allowing users to attach any file up to 25MB to any given task for additional context. At the time, the most notable shortcoming of the feature was that it was only available for personal lists, so if you shared a to-do list with someone else, those tasks didn't support file attachments.

That's about to change though, as the beta version of Microsoft To-Do for Android has received an update that enabled file attachments in shared lists. Based on our testing, the Windows 10 and web versions of the app still do not support it, and the App Store listing on iOS also does not mention it. If you upload a file from an Android device, though, it will be visible anywhere you access the list.

In addition to the new capability, there's a few more improvements in tow with the latest To-Do update. For example, there are now sorting options in your Flagged Emails list, a welcome improvement to the feature added last month. Here's the full list of improvements and fixes:

IMPROVEMENT

  • Sorting in Flagged Emails list
  • Generic login error message update

FIX

  • Fix regression in confirmation dialog for Flagged emails
  • Show error message when list owner opens share link
  • Crash after rotating and navigating back
  • Accessibility: Use user-friendly positions (1 indexed, not 0) for lists
  • Crash when transitioning dialog fragment while not being added
  • Resolve app freezing with very long notes

To-Do has evolved significantly since it launched as an intended substitute for Wunderlist. Features such as Cortana and Microsoft Launcher integration, which were missing at the time, have made their way to the service, making it a more suitable replacement for the old app. You can download To-Do for Android from the Play Store, where you can else sign up for the beta program to get the latest features a little earlier.
