Microsoft to release a Fortnite-themed Xbox One controller

In June, Microsoft released a new Xbox One S bundle, which came with a purple variant of the console and Xbox Wireless Controller inspired by Fortnite, in addition to some in-game content for the battle royale title. The bundle costs $299 if you're interested, but if you just want the controller, soon you'll be able to buy just that.

Microsoft has announced that the Xbox Wireless Controller - Fortnite Special Edition will be available to buy separately from the console in September. The controller's look is inspired by Fortnite, but it's really just a purple controller, so if you're a fan of the color, there's nothing stopping you from getting one.

There are some bonuses, though, if you do care about Epic's battle royale game. The controller comes with the Dark Vertex cosmetic set for the game, which was also included in the Xbox One S bundle, as well as 500 V-Bucks you can spend on in-game content.

The controller will be available to buy from the Microsoft Store on September 17 and should be available in retailers worldwide as well. It costs $64.99, which is in line with other special editions of the Xbox Wireless Controller.
