Microsoft updated its OneNote app on Android today with some key new features. Indeed, you'll finally have the ability to open password protected sections.
The company updated its suite of Office apps on Android a week ago with new collaboration features, but those only included Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. OneNote isn't exactly part of the Office for Android collection.
Here's what's new in today's update:
1. Ability to open password-protected sections
2. Record notes on-the-go with OneNote's support for audio recording
3. Support for auto-correct enabled for Google keyboard
4. Support for inserting and viewing embedded files
While the features included in today's update are anything but groundbreaking, they are important features they bring the app closer to a feature parity with its counterparts. Things like password protection and audio recording have been around in OneNote for some time.
Microsoft continues to take steps to make its OneNote service a more and more powerful note-taking tool. Just recently, it gave Windows users the ability to write equations with a pen and have the app solve it.
