Microsoft Whiteboard now supports sticky notes and text on the web

Microsoft unveiled last week several new features for Whiteboard in Teams such as support for sticky notes and text, available to the education segment. Today, the company announced that these features are rolling out to Whiteboard on the web.

The software giant also said these features are already available on Whiteboard for Windows 10 and iOS. Today's announcement expands their availability to both education and enterprise users, among others, who are using the collaboration app's web version. With sticky notes, users can "add ideas and feedback to the canvas". These can be inserted into any area on the canvas through the toolbar or a right click. The same method can be used to add text objects to the canvas.

In addition, objects can also be moved around the canvas if you want to reorganize content on the go. Alongside these new features is a complete overhaul of the Whiteboard web app. Microsoft says it is now much faster with improvements to its performance. That means Microsoft will be able to roll out more capabilities to Teams and the web in the future.

For education users, Whiteboard has added a new capability for teachers to choose when to grant students access to drawing on the board during a session. The app also now supports inclusive collaboration for enterprise users in a hybrid work environment.
