Microsoft will let you donate to the CDC by playing Xbox

Microsoft announced today that you can now donate to the CDC Foundation by playing your Xbox, through Microsoft Rewards. Starting today, you're going to see a tile on your Xbox One home screen to let you know about it.

The idea is nothing new, and all you have to do is what you'd normally do for Microsoft Rewards. You can do a limited time "Do Your Part From Home" punch card, play select Xbox One games, complete Xbox Game Pass Quests, rent and purchase movies and shows from Movies & TV, and more.

After you select the CDC Foundation as where you want your Rewards points donated, 1,000 points is equal to $1, and Microsoft says that it will match your donation one-to-one. You can sign up at Microsoftrewards.com if you're not already part of the program.

The firm says that this is inspired by Give with Bing, which already lets you donate to over a million nonprofits. Microsoft says that through this program, millions have already been donated, and it's looking forward to allowing gamers to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
