The coronavirus pandemic has seen a rise in the use of Microsoft Teams, that recently soared past 115 million daily active users. To compete with other similar apps, Microsoft has been working on adding new features to Teams based on user feedback.
Earlier this month, Microsoft announced that it will start rolling out breakout rooms as well as together mode. Not only that, the company also announced public preview program to test new features of Teams. Now, Microsoft has updated its roadmap to include the ability to share Outlook emails on Teams. According to the description, the feature will allow users to share a copy of emails to Teams chats and channels. The roadmap lists March 2021 as the expected rollout date so we will have to wait for a while before getting the feature.
Along with the ability to share emails to Microsoft Teams, the company is also working on a shared Teams calendar. The feature will allow users to create a specific calendar for Teams participants that will create a new post every time a meeting is added to the calendar. Microsoft's roadmap page notes that the ability to create a shared Teams calendar will also arrive in March 2021.
Microsoft has recently rolled out a bunch of features for Teams including the ability to pop out chats into dedicated windows as well as added official support for custom backgrounds. Recently, the company also published a list of features and improvements made to Teams in November. These included the support for AI-based background noise suppression, full-screen mode for meetings, and a new Power App for Teams.
