Microsoft's Whiteboard app is getting a 'blackboard' mode soon

Microsoft's Whiteboard collaboration tool is getting an update which will give users the option use a black background for their boards. The news was shared by Twitter user Emil Petro, and it actually seems as though a number of colors may be available to choose from, though Microsoft didn't specify which.

Whiteboard is a collaborative tool which Microsoft launched back in 2017 for the Surface Hub, and it eventually come to other Windows 10 devices as well. It allows users to come together in the same empty space to collaborate on the same project. It focuses heavily on inking, but users can also add text with sticky notes as well as pictures from their library or Bing. At this year's Ignite, Microsoft also made the tool available for iOS and the web.

Understandably, some users might not like the bright background of Whiteboard, and with the dark theme being so prevalent in Microsoft products, this news doesn't come as much of a surprise. It's currently unclear when the feature will arrive, but those who rely on the tool will probably be happy to hear that it's being worked on.
