Third chapter of the game-based movie franchise is in the works; may film in Cajun country.
When Mortal Kombat was released in theaters in 1995, the movies impact went beyond Johnny Cage delivering a roundhouse to Scorpion. The film, based on Midways brutally graphic fighting game, beat down competitors at the box office, greatly exceeding expectations and giving game-based flicks credence.
Threshold Entertainment, the franchises production company, is hoping to cash in on some fatalities again. The third feature in the series is currently in production and will be titled Mortal Kombat 3: Devastation.
