Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord now available on PC through Early Access

Following a long wait, Mount & Blade fans finally have the opportunity to jump in and experience new adventures in Calradia. Being developed by Taleworlds Entertainment, Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord has gone live on Steam through the Early Access program.

The March 2020 release was announced last year, for the game that was unveiled in 2012 as a prequel to Mount & Blade: Warband, with a set 200 years earlier. The game actually released today into early access a day earlier than originally planned, however.

The dynamic sandbox RPG gameplay should be familiar to any returning players of the series, though this sequel deepens many of the systems seen before, such as the fighting, sieges, economy, modding, and much more. Multiplayer is a big focus too, letting hundreds of players battle it out in medieval clashes.

Here are the minimum and recommended system requirements for this early access release, which may obviously change as the game develops further:

  • OS: Windows 7 (64-bit only)
  • CPU: Intel® Core™ i3-8100 / AMD Ryzen™ 3 1200
  • GPU: Intel® UHD Graphics 630 / NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660 2GB / AMD Radeon™ HD 7850 2GB
  • Memory: 6 GB RAM

  • GPU: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 1060 3GB / AMD Radeon™ RX 580

  • Storage: 60 GB available space

Taleworlds Entertainment predicts the game will be in the Steam Early Access program for about a year. It warned that players can run into bugs and glitches, balance problems, disabled features, reused scenes, as well as placeholder content in the game's current early access state.

Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord currently comes in at $44.99 on Steam due to a 10% launch discount that will run for two weeks from now. Moreover, anyone who has a previous Mount & Blade title in their library will get another 10% off on top of the current discount.
