MP3 Cutter is a new freeware utility splits audio files into pieces, creates ringtones, extracts audio from video and converts to MP3. The new software has a task-oriented user interface and easy controls, supports more than 40 popular audio and video formats and saves the output to MP3, WMA, WAV and AMR.
MP3 Cutter can be used to do many different things. For example, it lets users open a music file and split the record into smaller fragments. This operation is helpful when users want to make a ringtone from a favorite song, want to split a long audio book into shorter chapters, or trim a podcast to remove portions of the record which are not interesting or necessary like silence pauses. Featuring support for more than 40 different file types, some of which are video formats such as AVI, MOV and MPEG, MP3 Cutter lets not only cut audio files, but also extract audio from music video and save to MP3 or other audio formats. Users have full control over the output settings and can select the required bitrate, channel (Mono/Stereo) and sound quality.
Other MP3 Cutter abilities include being able to do file conversions between formats. Users can, for example, save a WAV record as MP3 to upload to the mobile device like iPad and listen on the road, or export an AVI video of the favorite concert to MP3, cut this long record into songs and upload to an MP3 player. If users want to share the split record with friends, the program offers a special button, Send to Friends, that opens the default mail client and attaches the file to the message, so users only need to enter the email address and a few lines.
Splitting an audio file is fun to do. To begin, users need to open the audio file to split in MP3 Cutter. To cut out the required audio fragment from the record, it is necessary to play the song and set the start and the end time by clicking the corresponding control buttons, Start Position and End Position. To ensure the fragment is selected right, the user can play the selection, and then click the Save button to save a new audio file.
