Operation Flashpoint: Elite for xbox has been created using an enhanced version of the Operation Flashpoint technology from Bohemia Interactive Studio. The technology behind Operation Flashpoint has been widely recognised for its accurate simulation of modern warfare, and has been adapted for the United States Marine Corps, United States National Guard, Australian Defence Forces and others to use as a training simulation VBS1.

Member of the development team at BiS can actually count on firsthand experience, with a number of their members serving in the army and using this to create the game's military operations.
