New Microsoft logo part of new Boston Microsoft Store

Earlier today, Microsoft officially launched its new corporate logo, and the company wasted no time in adding the new logo to some of its Microsoft Store retail locations. That includes the company's newest Microsoft Store, which opened in Boston this morning.

The official Microsoft Store Twitter page shows images of the store opening, located in the Shops at Prudential Mall in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood. Microsoft also said that the new logo has now been put in place at the Seattle and Bellevue, Washington store locations and will be put in place in all of its retail shops over the next few months.

The Boston location is the 23rd brick-and-mortar store set up by Microsoft, with several more locations listed as "coming soon" on the official Microsoft Store website. People who stood in line for the Boston opening today were given wrist bands that they can use to attend a free concert on Saturday by pop artist Lenny Kravitz.

Microsoft has the goal of having 44 Microsoft Store locations opened by mid-2013 and it also has plans to open up temporary "pop up" stores for the holidays this year; hiring for these stores has already begun in places like Manhattan, Chicago and others.
